This page documents the PC keybindings observed in Sword Sage: Awakening preview builds and press demo sessions. Sword Panda Limited designed the default layout for quick access to deflection, attacks, and prosthetic leg techniques. Note that the full Steam release may adjust bindings, and we will update this reference immediately when official documentation is published.
Movement and Camera
Standard WASD keys handle character movement in the third-person perspective. Mouse movement controls the camera, allowing you to orient Pei Sanniang toward threats and survey the amber-punk environments of Guannandao. The camera behaves smoothly in preview builds with no reported frame drops during the three-hour demo sessions documented by Inven Global.
Sprint or dash functionality, if present in the full release, will likely occupy a modifier key near movement inputs. Preview builds focused primarily on combat encounters rather than extended exploration, so traversal bindings may expand when the complete campaign launches.
Combat Inputs
Light and heavy attack buttons are mapped to mouse buttons in the preview configuration, following conventions familiar to PC action game players. The deflect or evasion input occupies a keyboard key within easy reach of your movement hand, since you will trigger it constantly during combat. When directional attack indicators appear, combine the deflect input with W for upper, A or D for middle, and S for lower attacks.
Weapon swap inputs allow San Niang to switch between equipped melee weapons. Publisher interviews confirm that weapons have durability mechanics, so swapping before a blade breaks is a strategic consideration beyond simple playstyle preference. Keep swap keys accessible for mid-combat transitions.
Prosthetic leg techniques use dedicated keys separate from standard sword attacks. These techniques include both close-range strikes and ranged options, making the leg a multi-purpose tool. Taoist spell inputs occupy additional keys, and spell selection may involve a radial menu or hotbar system in the full release.
Recommended Setup
Place your deflect key on Left Shift or E if the default feels awkward. This input sees more use than jump in most action games, so prioritize comfort and speed. Mouse side buttons work well for prosthetic leg techniques if you use a gaming mouse with extra inputs.
Consider lowering mouse sensitivity for boss fights where precise directional deflections matter more than camera speed. Preview testers noted that the White Gibbon Sage encounter rewards players who can quickly orient toward attack indicators without overshooting camera adjustments.
If you use accessibility talismans, no additional keybinds are required. Talismans toggle through the game menu and provide timing assistance without changing your core combat inputs. You can disable them at any time once you no longer need the help.
